Did sehwag deserve call to national side?

As we all know virender sehwag has been selected in the team which will play the ODI's against srilanka , I am just curious to find out what exactly did he do to deserve this shot ,saurav ganguly had to grit it hard in the domestic cricket for whole year before he was presented with an opportunity but here we drop sehwag for one series then bring him back,what a joke i think it was a whole drama to drop him in the first place just to mellow down the outrage of indian public
I am totally against this decision and i think we needed to give more chance to youngsters like robin uthapa who has done his reputation no harm with his two innings that he has played
