Defenestration : House of Falling Furniture

Called “DEFENESTRATION” the abandoned four-story tenement building sitting at the corner of 6th st. and howard st. in San Fransiscio, California has been a sculptural mural since 1997. This multi-disciplinary sculptural mural involves seemingly animated furniture : tables, chairs, lamps, grandfather clocks, a refrigerator, and couches, their bodies bent like centipedes, fastened to the walls and window-sills, their insect-like legs seeming to grasp the surfaces.

The Strongest Girl in the World

Meet Varvara Akulova, the world’s strongest girl. Now she is 13, but most of the photos featured in this post depict her at the age of six. She already was a champion at the age of four and expressed unbelievable strength.

She comes from a very poor family from Ukraine, they were always short on food and basic things - but nevertheless she started doing sports at the very early age and at the age of four she could lift 220 lbs weights! It was so fantastic that The Discovery channel has made a documentary about her - “The Worlds Strongest Girl”.

Since then each year her personal weight grew by 2 lbs each year (2 kg a year) but her lifting power increased by 25 lbs (11 kg) each year.

Biggest Earth mover in the world-Mega Machine

This is the largest earth mover in the world..... built by the German company, Krupp, and seen here crossing a federal highway in Germany en route to its destination (an open-pit coal mine). It is cheaper to move the thing like this, than to construct or reassemble onsite.

~The Bucket Wheel is over 70 feet in diameter with 20 buckets,
each of which can hold over 530 cubic feet of material.
~ A 6-foot man can stand up inside one of the buckets.
~ It moves on 12 crawlers (each is 12 feet wide, 8' high and 46 feet long). There are 8 crawlers in front and 4 in back. It has a maximum speed of 1 mile in 3 hours (1/3 mile/hour).
~It can remove over 76,455 cubic meters each day.
